Kiuchi No Oishii Okome Musenmai Fukumaru

This Japanese no-wash (Musenmai) rice is a recent variety cultivated exclusively in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Thanks to a specific manufacturing process, the rice bran is removed in the factory, allowing for quick preparation without the need to rinse the rice before cooking.

Its grains, larger and plumper than those of many other Japanese rice varieties, offer a texture that is both soft and slightly firm. Heat-resistant, it guarantees consistent cooking and excellent quality, ideal for accompanying all Japanese and Asian dishes.

Convenient for daily use, this no-wash rice saves time while retaining all the taste qualities of premium Japanese rice. It is perfect for preparing rice bowls, donburi, Japanese curries, or as an accompaniment to fish and meat.

Cooking Tips

Musenmai rice does not require any prior washing. For 150g of rice, add approximately 230ml of water, preferably low-mineral or soft water. Slightly adjust the amount of water according to the desired texture in subsequent cooks.

After adding the water, gently mix the rice in the cooker to homogenize the mixture, then let it soak for at least 30 minutes before cooking.

It is normal for the water to become slightly cloudy: this comes from the starch and natural elements of the rice. If you wish, you can do a light rinse, although it is not necessary.

Once cooking is complete, let the rice rest for 15 minutes without opening the lid to finish steaming. Finally, gently aerate the rice from the bottom of the cooker before serving to achieve a perfectly homogeneous texture.

The Advantages of No-Wash Rice

Japanese Musenmai rice offers simple and quick preparation while reducing water consumption. Its manufacturing process preserves the quality of the grain while facilitating its use, making it an ideal choice for Japanese cuisine enthusiasts looking for practicality and quality.
